Herbal Uterine Tonics

with Kay'aleya Hunnybee, M.S. (she/her)

Uterine tonics can be especially helpful for menstrual or pelvic pain, tension, fertility support, heavy bleeding, light bleeding, perinatal care, low libido, relaxed tissues (mild prolapse), hormonal imbalances, and for overall support throughout the womb phases. This is foundational herbal knowledge - from cycling/fertility years through perimenopause and even post-menopausally.

What we'll cover:

8 herbal allies for pelvic and womb care

In our 90 minutes together, we'll dive deeply into 8 widely available  uterine tonic herbs. You'll leave with foundational knowledge of each herb, parts used, actions and energetics as well as a sense of when to choose one herb over another for your unique body and needs.

How do these uterine tonics work?

We'll explore what a uterine tonic is, including why they are not all interchangeable. You'll gain a sense of how they can support various pelvic and womb imbalances as well as offer support from a preventative lens. And which herbs make sense for things like menstrual pain, bloating, cycle challenges, libido, tension, dampness, relaxed tissues, tissue recovery, etc.

Best medicinal forms to receive the most benefit from each herb

Working intentionally with herbs doesn't mean just learning what they do but also requires knowing the best extraction methods for the desired actions, which can vary herb to herb. You'll learn which medicinal preparations (tinctures, teas, oils, powders, topical, etc) are best for each of the 8 herbs depending on what you're seeking to address.

I'm Kay'aleya
(kai-ah-lay-ah)

For 20 years, my devotion to earth and womb care has guided my life and work. I'm the host of the Herbal Womb Wisdom podcast, a clinical & community herbalist, bodyworker, and embodied wellness educator based in the Wabanaki lands of Maine. I spent several years as a student midwife and doula before orienting myself to the herbs more fully. I deeply believe that plants are some of our greatest allies as we navigate our personal (and collective) imbalances -- hormonally, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise.
